Macarena Santos i Torres, (born 8 April 1970) is a Spanish writer who writes under the name “Care Santos”. She writes in both Catalan and Spanish languages, for both young and adult readers.

^Synopsis:

The protagonist, the young Xenia Buch struggles to get the best grades that year since she wants to enter the Medicine career. Lately his performance is dropping because Xenia has fallen in love. The problem is that he is not a real boy that he has met in a high school but one that he has shared on the Internet in a reading forum. Xenia feels that she can share her interest in reading with Marcelo, who is what this boy is called.

But Xenia is suspicious of the boy because he doesn’t answer in long sentences nor does he give her any clues about his life. That is why he decides to ask him for a date but surprisingly Marcelo refuses outright. The protagonist of this young adult novel sets out to discover who she is and surprises him at home. He begins to investigate with the little data he has and little by little and to his surprise he discovers that everything he has published on the Internet is a Lie: the name and his photo do not correspond to anyone real. Xenia worries and regrets for the abandonment of her studies, she confesses everything to her parents because she fears that she has been the victim of some deception or even of an unscrupulous one. unexpected package will reveal Marcelo’s identity and she will understand, thanks to this coincidence, why she wanted to hide her true personality.

Personal opinion:

I read this book two years ago and it was one of the best books I have ever  read at school. It’s really interesting and you can  read it very quickly.
